When we moved to Vancouver,WA 2008 from Hawaii I had no household furniture here so hubby and I went out to garage sales and to Goodwill.
We found this gliding rocker and stool at a garage sale. The upholstry was not bad but I wanted something that looked "new". So one day we were at the Goodwill store on 4th plain and I spotted a set of curtains that I could just
picture using to cover that rocker and I got it all for $6.. went home and got me some old newspaper and made it big enough (thanks to scotch tape) to measure big enough to use for a pattern.. And cut it out and sewed together and placed on the rocker the same day. ( of course I washed the material before cutting it). Now that was 2 yrs ago and I am ready to once again recover
this rocker and have another set of curtains to use for this project.. I will post the new covers when I get around to making them. Which will be soon as I don't want the "new" dining room chair covers to clash with the living room
color set up.
Today I covered my dining room chairs which I purchased at the same time I did the gliding rocker in 2008 at the same garage sale. The covers were an off white color with a few stains here and there but I removed them easily and we have just used the chairs as is until today. Last week I was in where else but Goodwill on 4th plain and I spotted another set of curtains with my chairs in mind and I purchased 2 sets for $3.99. And here is what they look like on my chair.
This picture shows the material better but here is the chair in another picture.
I will be reporting in soon with new slipcovers for that glider rocker..
